Editorial standards
This is a Your-Money-or-Your-Life site: a wrong reciprocity fact can cost someone a job start date or a filing fee. These are the standards that govern every page, and the people accountable for them.
Who writes and reviews this site
Pages are produced by the License Reciprocity Editorial Team — the research-and-verification team that reads the primary boards and compact commissions and turns them into the data that drives every page and tool. Content verification is led by Billy Reiner, Editor, the real operator accountable for what publishes here: Verifies every reciprocity fact, fee, and requirement against the official state licensing board or interstate compact commission, and dates every page.
We use AI research tooling to read fifty-one boards in parallel — but every fact a tool surfaces is checked against the official source by a human before it ships, and the named editor stands behind the result. Tools accelerate the reading; they do not decide what is true.
No synthetic authors, no invented credentials
We do not publish fictional writers, AI-generated author portraits, or borrowed titles. The editorial team is described honestly as a team; the editor is a real person; and no page claims a legal, medical, or licensing credential that its author does not actually hold. We are a data-and-tools publisher — not a law firm, a licensing authority, or a school — and we say so rather than dressing the site up as something it is not.
Primary sources only
Every reciprocity fact traces to a state licensing board, an interstate-compact commission, or the governing statute — never to prep-school blogs or aggregator lists, which routinely publish inflated reciprocity counts. Aggregators are used only as cross-checks and are never cited. Each page lists its sources; the full registry is at /sources/, and the verification hierarchy is on the methodology page.
Honest nulls
Some boards do not publish a fee or a processing time. Where a fact is not publicly available, we write "not publicly disclosed" rather than estimate. A blank with a link to the official board beats a confident guess — because the guess is the thing that gets someone hurt.
Dates that tell the truth
Every page shows the date its facts were last verified, and that date moves only when a human actually re-checked the source — never automatically on deploy. The sitemap reports the same real dates to search engines. Freshness on this site is earned, not stamped.
Independence
No lead generation, no course sales, no paid placements, no "sponsored" boards, no advertising. Nothing on a page is there because someone paid for it. The only incentive is to be the most accurate, most citable source on license reciprocity.
Corrections
Errors get fixed, visibly. Report one to [email protected] with the official source. Confirmed corrections ship with an updated verification date, and systemic aggregator errors we've rejected are documented on the pages they affect.
